RTA102: Readied for the rough. Reminds of a legend.
Defining points for the Ratio FreeDiver Blue Dial Sapphire Crystal Stainless Steel Automatic RTA102 200M Men's Watch
Impressive, zero-distortion domed sapphire with a slightly bluish tinge. It is stronger than flat crystals of the same thickness and disperses impacts more efficiently. It is less likely to shatter and/or crack than a flat crystal. It is also more scratch-proof than other types of crystals
4’o clock crown minimizing chances of wrist bites and easier operability both on and off wrist. This position makes the crown less likely to catch onto obstacles when diving and is a more ergonomic choice while engaged in vigorous activities. Besides, it helps in reducing the overall width of the watch and needless saying, this off-beat position of the crown also increases its aesthetic appeal.
6 reasons why you should go for the Ratio FreeDiver Blue Dial Sapphire Crystal Stainless Steel Automatic RTA102 200M Men's Watch
This watch is readied for hard-hitting jobs. A solidly-built, aesthetically-pleasing watch, the Ratio FreeDiver Blue Dial Sapphire Crystal Stainless Steel Automatic RTA102 200M Men's Watch is an all-round instrument for marine enthusiasts and desk-divers alike. It’s the first Freediver series to use the domed sapphire crystal, its beauty a bluish tinge that made it an instant hit among young and matured adults alike.
This is an excellent, everyday tool watch both for urban surroundings and outdoors. Whatever your job might be - unless there’s a formal dress code – you can wear the RTA102 anytime you like. It’s always ready for the rough!
The RTA102 200M Men's Watch is built all in thick-gauge surgical steel. It adds both strength and heft to the watch, only that it’s not so much of a heft. It just exerts an assuring pressure on the wrist, that’s all about it. Its construction (case, screw-down crown, engraved case-back w/image of a free diver and the deployment clasp) helps to increase the momentum of your hand rather than tying you down with its weight. The sapphire crystal, too, offers high resistance against damaging water pressure (equivalent to pressure exerted by a 200m high water column on the watch’s surface area) and its curved shape is a big aid in minimising water pressure right above the watch. The whole construction efficiently handles physical impacts (including violent tugs) and magnetic fields from everyday electronic and electrical equipment.
The crystal, the case and the Freediver-etched case back together protect the Japanese mechanical movement (with its own shock/antimagnetic features) together against violent knocks, bumps and drops.
A large sized dial made of brass and painted using silkscreen technique; a day/date window and prominent hands and hour markers offer maximum visibility under murky environments and when under pressing situations. This is so much like the SKX. You do not have to squint to focus on the dial to read the time, day/date or the bezel/timer reading. A big advantage is the Japan lume-filled prominent hour markers (especially at 12, 6 and 9); they are big, bright and with an almost infinite longevity. It also ensures longer hours of illumination.
The serrated bezel and the grooved crown facilitate a firm grip with wet fingers, with or without gloves on. It is advised not to operate the crowns under wet/immersed conditions.
TThe hour and minute hands of the RTA102 are unique in their shapes. The hour and minute hands are a mix between arrow, syringe and sword shapes while the seconds-hand is an improvisation on the sword-style with a lume-filled circle at the tail-end. All the hands are sumptuously filled with Japan-made lume the hour markers alike. The lume dot on the bezel ensures you do not miss out on the correct time-reading.

Ratio uses Japanese luminescent paint for the luminescence in the Freediver 200m watch. It is a non-radioactive, radiant paint that's applied generously on the hands and the indices of the Freediver. The paint exhibits greater intensity and longer-lasting luminescence. Its output duration doesn’t let you compromise on visibility; let it even be for a few extra hours in the dark! A 10-minutes long exposure to 500 lux or higher intensity light will charge the lume for the next 3-5 hours. A continuous 8-hour exposure to Sunlight on a normal summer day will let it glow for 10+ hours. The longevity of the paint is semi-permanent, ensuring full functionality of the watch even after years of active use.

The watch is a good replacement for the SKX. The case is almost as good as the original one, but the NH36 works much better than the 7S26 in the SKX. I replaced the bracelet with a blue nato bandI very much like it. The domed sapphire crystal looks great with the ceramic bezel.
Let me add my previous review. In the sunlight, both the dialbezel display a really cool blue. in sunlight, blue dial has a really brilliant sunburst effect.
I just received my second RATIO watch. Singapore to Long Beach, California in 2 days! It’s a great look looks like it will stand up for work. The bezel is a little course but works well enough. I ordered the blue dial. Indoors, the bezel looks dark blue but the dial looks black until I look at it in the right angle. Perhaps it’s the domed crystal. I’m a sucker for domed crystals, though. Great job!
Incredible quality watch equal to or better than much more expensive watches. Beautiful color of the dial.
