RTS318
Largely exhibiting tool watches properties; it’s no surprise that the skysurfer comes with a formidable diving capability and is tough as a nail in its build. The classic flieger styled watch is more inclined to the traditional designs but has a distinctly fresh and modern feel while remaining immediately recognizable. Serves two purposes altogether: As a reliable outdoor wear and as a daily wear.

SPECIALITIES

Ratio Skysurfer: 3D for the 3 hands

Each of the hour and minute hands of the Ratio Skysurfer watches comprises two parts. These are the base part and the top part placed one atop the other. The 3D visual effect comes from this design maneuver; its prominence is further enhanced by the application of the high-quality luminous paint from Japan! The thin, cylindrical seconds-hand has the Ratio logo attached to its end. This logo, apart from counter-balancing the seconds-hand, enhances the overall visual appeal of the watch face.

Speciality

Bright even in twilight: Lume Quality in Ratio Skysurfer watches

We have chosen a non-radioactive, nontoxic photo-luminescent paint from Japan for Ratio Skysurfer watches. When charged under bright sunlight continuously for 8 hours, it will give you an afterglow that will last through the night without the glow fading too much.

Both the Type A and Type B Ratio Skysurfer watches have the lume material applied in two formats upon the same brass base, which is the dial. Either the lume is applied to their indices and markers and the hour and minute hands or it's just the reverse - lume on the entire dial except on the hands, the indices and the markers i.e. where it previously had been.

Regardless of the layout, both offer excellent visual clarity in dark and dusk. Your choice will depend upon how much you want to stay visible at those times.

Where technology MEETS craftsmanship

Ratio Skysurfer: Merging Strengths

Italians are excellent designers capable of creating very intricate designs within small spaces. They are arguably the best in this aspect all over the world. That's why Ratio opted for designers from the land of Da Vinci and Michelangelo. SPECIALITY

FIND COMFORT IN DEPTH: RATIO SKYSURFER'S WATER RESISTANCE READIES IT FOR SUDDEN, DEEP DIPS

The 200m water resistance of the Skysurfer watches is double that of most other pilot watches. 30m to 50m or sometimes, even 100 meters is common, but you must stay prepared for the worst when out on an adventure. Ratio Skysurfer watches are one of the very few pilot watches that have 200m water resistance and doesn’t cost big bucks.

From the skies to the seas, get a Skysurfer to turn your every adventure into some serious fun and frolic!

SPECIALITIES

SURGICAL-GRADE STAINLESS STEEL BODY: RESISTS CORROSION FROM CHLORINE, SALTS AND SALTWATER, ACIDS AND ALKALINE AGENTS

Italians are excellent designers capable of creating very intricate designs within small spaces. They are arguably the best in this aspect all over the world. That's why Ratio opted for designers from the land of Da Vinci and Michelangelo. The designs for both Type A and Type B Skysurfer watches are, therefore, specifically thought out without deviating from the classic Flieger style. The end result is a watch that you can wear not just for sporting events and activities but also for your workplace and fun evenings.Skysurfer watches - irrespective of Type A or Type B, get the 24-Jewels Seiko NH38A movement.

Just when you think it is dark, it smiles brightly at you!

The Skysurfer dials use three different lume layouts including a fully lumed dial in both Type A and Type B designs, the terms loosely translating to a simple, traditional clock layout and a more technical layout respectively. The dial designs are clever twists upon the Beobachtungsuhren (navigators’ watch) issued to the Luftwaffe during WWII, the entire colouring, luming and indexing done through silk-screen printing technique upon a brass base.

Brass takes colours better than any other metal and therefore, is least likely to fade over time and the silkscreen method helps us to keep the costs down without compromising on precision finishing. It also helps to us to keep up with the demands, for it is also the fastest way to apply the fine Japan lume in the most perfect way, resulting in smooth, even applications of the paint/coating materials. The slight double-domed sapphire crystal makes the dials appear bigger and the lume brighter, facilitating higher visibility whether its light, dark or twilight.

Skysurfer watches are powered by the 24-Jewels Seiko NH38A movement. The beat rate for this mechanical, automatic movement is 21,600bph (3Hz). It can run for 40+ hours on a fully wound mainspring. The seconds-hacking feature allows for accurate time-setting. Factory regulation sets it at +20 seconds but it can be further regulated to stay within +10 seconds or less. But this will break the factory seal.

Excellent - I'm impressed. Given the reasonable price and the fact that I'd never heard of the brand I kept my expectations low for this watch, but as soon as I pulled it from the box I was glad I ordered it. The proportions are perfect, with everything in balance. The relatively busy dial in a smallish 40mm case could easily look crowded, but it doesn't at all. This is helped by the lack of a date window, which keeps things simple.

The Seiko NH38A movement has six beats per second so the second hand sweeps fairly cleanly, though of course it doesn't look quite as smooth as you'll see on higher end automatic movements. The strap looks nice, but the leather definitely has a bit of a budget feel to it. It's a little stiff fresh out of the box, though I'm sure it will become a little more supple with wear. These two details are the only indications that this isn't a super high end watch, and in no way are they dealbreakers.

At this price I have no problem recommending this watch to anyone. It's beautifully designed and seems very well built for a relatively affordable automatic watch. Easy five stars from me. I can see this becoming a firm favourite in my collection.

Revels in its simple design, with some small details that make it a nice looker. I particularly like the choice of silver, blue, and white for the color scheme. The silver and blue work great together and easily match to tons of clothing options. The white watch face markings and inlay on the hands contrast well on the dark blue background. The second hand has a tiny Pi symbol on the short end which is neat while remaining subtle. The white accent stitching on blue leather band pairs perfectly with the watch body. The silver breaks up the overall blue and white theme so that its not too much blue and white. The band has a bit of leather texture on the flat surfaces, and the side edges feel smooth and rubberized. There is also a tiny Pi symbol on the latch for the band and on the crown of the watch. The crown unscrews to unlock the adjustment for the time.
The mechanical part is a Seiko NH38A japanese automatic movement that charges with the natural movement of you walking around with it on your wrist. This is a pretty common and quality movement that you shouldn't have to worry about for years, and it it does give you issues it can be replaced entirely for very little.
Overall it feels fairly light on the wrist. It is an average size watch face - not some huge gaudy thing that weighs down the wrist. It looks plenty big for my smaller than average wrists. It looks nice without being flashy, so it will work with dressier or more casual outfits. I find this watch to be the easiest of my watches to pair with the biggest variety of outfits. All around my new favorite.
